Founder & CEODavid founded Red Tide Guard® after recognizing a problem many Florida Gulf Coast travelers face: families often spend thousands of dollars planning beach vacations before fully understanding the conditions that may shape their experience.
RTG began as a red tide monitoring resource designed to help travelers better understand coastal conditions before their trip. Over time, it became clear that families needed more than red tide updates. They needed help comparing destinations, understanding beach conditions, and choosing the right beach before booking hotels, flights, vacation rentals, and activities.
Today, Red Tide Guard® helps families choose the right Florida Gulf Coast beach before they book their vacation. By combining coastal intelligence, destination comparisons, and family-focused guidance, RTG serves as the first step in planning a Florida Gulf Coast beach vacation.
David believes RTG is especially valuable for parents—particularly moms who often take the lead in planning family vacations—as well as travel advisors who want to provide clients with greater confidence before recommending a destination. Whether planning independently or working with a trusted advisor, travelers deserve to understand what to expect before making a significant investment in their trip.
David holds a degree in Economics from the University of Alabama and has spent more than 20 years building businesses around solving real-world problems. He founded RTG after recognizing that families had plenty of tools for booking vacations, but very few resources for choosing the right beach destination before they book.
He still spends as much time as possible on Florida's Gulf Coast with his family, where the original idea for RTG first began.
