Gulf Coastal Conditions Overview
Heading into the weekend, Florida's Gulf Coast is returning to a more typical summer pattern. Tropical Storm Bertha has weakened to a tropical depression well inland over Texas, and the storm's direct influence on Florida continues to diminish.
Most of Central and Southwest Florida continue offering favorable beach conditions, while portions of the Florida Panhandle are still recovering from several days of rough surf, dangerous rip currents, and temporary beach closures.

Florida's most recent statewide monitoring continues to show excellent red tide conditions across the Gulf Coast.
During the past week:
No red tide was detected in Southwest Florida.
No red tide was detected in Northwest Florida.
No red tide-related fish kills were reported.
No red tide-related respiratory irritation was reported.

The tropical threat to Florida has decreased significantly.
Tropical Storm Bertha has weakened inland over Texas, and all tropical storm warnings have been discontinued.
